Reinforcing Environmental Sustainability with Constructive Utilization of Waste on Earth
About the Innovator
Mr. Rahul Nagpaul was a Marine Engineer, sailor/mariner, author, environmentalist, web designer and an innovator/ inventor.

He was vastly experienced as Chief Marine Engineer, and was the Sr. Lecturer & Associated Professor at Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI). He was also the sole author of seven published articles, five conference papers, and two personal copyrights registered.

Rahul used the knowledge gained in Marine Environmental Pollution Prevention & Protection, which at first led him to two unsuccessful Provisional Patents: 881/MUM/2008, dt.21/04/2008 & 55/ MUM/ 2012, dt.06/01/2012 (both were 'abandoned' due to unsatisfactory Material Test Reports of Prototypes, requiring further improvements).
After over 5 years of independent research and development, he started a cleantech start-up, RESCUW Earth. Rahul independently innovated two Pioneering Green Technologies for recycling solid wastes, and his dedication yielded to International Patents being published in Europe in November 2017.

This endeavor has been made possible by the skills & experience he gained in a decade-long career as a Marine Engineer, sailing on various types of Merchant Navy ships (including Oil Tankers), on different models of Engines & Machinery, and with Nationals from Seven (7) countries. Rahul widely traveled by land/air/sea, and also paid ship visit to over thirty (30) countries.
He also spent some time in manning & recruitment on shore, and being involved in practicing/enforcing pollution prevention as a part of Marine Environment Protection (MEP) with MARPOL regulations (MARPOL consists of International regulation for Prevention of Pollution by Oil, Noxious liquid substances, harmful substances in packaged form, Sewage, Garbage & Air Pollution).
His industrial exposure was followed with about an year long involvement in HRD, Ship manning & Recruitment during the critical period of transition, when STCW'78 was upgrading to STCW'95, and dealing with acute shortages of trained/certified officers (Nautical & Marine Engineering) for ship operations. Having experienced the variation in demands & importance of trained/certified officers (Nautical & Marine Engineering), he decided to contribute to the vital sphere of education, training, and knowledge sharing. He spent over a decade in gaining academic experience as a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Marine Engineering. Out of this, more than half a decade long period involved focusing on the Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) learning methodologies on Simulator Systems (Nautical & Marine Engineering) and safety training with a focus on Innovation & improvising in Workshop Practicals.
